Saw this headline on the front page of the WSJ yesterday:
“Shoppers Increase Spending Despite Inflation.”
So I went online and joined a chorus of more enlightened (not sarcastic this time) readers in the comments section:
“Once again the comments section trumps the article itself. What fool can’t see increased spending as a symptom of dollar debasement and buying to avoid future debasement, deceptively described as growth.
Buying now for these reasons distorts future economic activity and radicalizes boom and bust cycles. This will cause our betters to further distort a free market. Short term thinking and ignorance of the benefits of freedom.”
