Any economic system in the wrong hands can be corrupted, compromised, and deformed to become nothing less than a road to an enduring power possessed by a very few. Similarly, an economic system in the right hands can be a source of empowerment and opportunity for all of a populous. But human nature being what it is, economic systems, no matter how glorified by the few, will eventually devolve into a servitude status for the majority. No economic system can remain perfect and of benefit to all because human nature will always be a corrupting source.
