I saw this pile of records and it looked like it was put there just for me, although soul music is just one of many genres I appreciate. Like bluegrass or country (before gentrification), soul music reflects struggle and has emotion that makes it essential to understanding human history. These blacks from this era were true perfectionists in their art and the perfection did not get in the way of the feeling.
