Crossover hit?

There’s been plenty of heavy stuff on here so here is something else. Bob Dorr, who has a rock and roll history show on KUNI played a request yesterday as I was planting corn, Compared to What by Brian Auger. I might have heard that version before but forgot. Here is Les McCann and Eddie Harris in Montreux doing this big hit from the year I was released from high school:

Try not to move. But… What’s with “unwed mothers need abortion” and “The President, he’s got his war
Folks don’t know just what it’s for
Nobody gives us rhyme or reason
Have one doubt, they call it treason” BOTH in the same song. Grown ups more valuable than babies? Quite a contradiction!

  1. The lyrics are applicable to today. We face the same problems. Question a war and it is called treason. .

    • For lack of anything else, I heard some of Hannity the other day. He listed all these Islamic vs everyone conflicts going on and was astonished at the inaction of “this administration.” He didn’t mention what his ideal action was but intimated more spending as the solution to the “existential threat.” I’m no longer astonished at the sheeples’ blind adoration and obedience to these Xs(no civil word available). When he came to Yemen there was no mention of the most radical group, in their pristine white robes and Ferraris bombing the hell out of any civilian neighborhood they can find, with weapons supplied by us (like most weapons in the area), and with our blessing. Who? Saudi Arabia, the stabilizing influence.
