Gun control ad

Here is a good illustration of the ignorance associated with those who believe government control of guns will limit , what I refuse to call, “gun violence.”

  1. Guns don’t kill people. People kill people. Of course, people with guns can kill more people, faster, and at a greater distance.

  2. Indeed. Anyone with an IQ greater than that of a plant, and with ten seconds of hard thought, should be able to see the Chicago experience as a real-life metaphor of a region where only the criminals are (apparently) allowed to have guns. In the U.S., on an annual basis, 10.2 people per 100,000 population are killed by guns, whereas 19.4 people die as a result of a motor vehicle mishap. Why shouldn’t we ban cars and go back to horses? And if you control the gun deaths for ethnicity, the number of deaths caused by guns drops to 3.1 per 100,000 population. Seems to me that in Chicago and other large ghetto communities, the issue is the inability of the Black and much of the Hispanic populations to compete for jobs and a preference for a lifestyle that favors life support emanating from government entitlements. One needs to find the cause of the pervasive anger and resentment that exists among these ghetto populations and that results in a lashing-out at society, as opposed to condemning the tool that these acrimonious people use to inflict their retribution.
